Internal Mobility at OLX

She started collecting signatures. Now she’s competing in China.

How curiosity, courage, and cross-functional collaboration turned a summer internship into a career building the future of legal operations

In 2019, Weronika Dominiczak-Szwarc walked into OLX as a summer intern in the Legal department. Her job? Administrative support – collecting signatures, archiving documents, making sure the paperwork ran smoothly.

Seven years later, she’s leading AI-powered automation projects, presenting at global innovation competitions, and together with the team, transforming how OLX’s legal team works across Europe.

A non-traditional path, a powerful outcome

Weronika didn’t study law. But that didn’t stop her from building a career in legal operations and eventually becoming the person reimagining how legal teams operate.

“I started as admin support. Step by step, I moved into paralegal work, creating documents and handling processes. Then we pivoted toward technical and operational projects. Today, we are building the team’s automation engine,” she says.

After her 3-month internship, Weronika was offered a permanent role. She said yes, and kept learning, kept pushing, kept asking: What if we could do this better?

Building solutions, not just buying them

When the pandemic hit, Weronika and the legal team built their first solution: implementing Jira from scratch to centralize chaotic email and Slack requests. They designed the workflows themselves – no consultants, no playbook.

“That was our first era of change,” Weronika says.

In 2025 came the second wave: AI automation. After evaluating 19 CLM tools over 200+ hours, the team decided to build their own solution – layering N8N and AI integrations onto the Jira foundation they’d already created.

The result? An in-house “agent” that automates low-value contracts (NDA & Standalone work orders), giving time back to our legal and business teams. What used to take 56 hours now happens in minutes.

“We built something that will significantly boost efficiency, save time, and provide a much smoother workflow,” Weronika says. “And we did it together, cross-functionally, with engineering, product, and business partners.”

The rollout is planned in April across Europe.

From fear to the global stage

Weronika’s work didn’t just stay internal. Together with the BIT Team she entered OLX’s innovation competition, and won, advancing to the global finals. The team is presenting their automation solution in China, in front of thousands.

For someone who, seven years ago, was terrified of public speaking, this is a full-circle moment.

“If you’d told me back then I’d be presenting to 2,000 people, I’d have thought you were crazy,” she laughs. “But here we are.”

Her advice to candidates and colleagues?

“Just try. It won’t hurt. It might become a great adventure – one that opens many doors.”

Weronika’s story isn’t about having the perfect CV or the “right” degree. It’s about curiosity, courage, and commitment, three of OLX’s core values, in action.

It’s proof that at OLX, your career path isn’t fixed. If you’re willing to learn, collaborate, and challenge the status quo, there’s no limit to where you can go.

“Find something you like and that makes you happy. Be selfish about it. It might require change, it might mean taking a step that looks like going backward — but give it a try. Be a beginner and enjoy the process like a child.”

Your turn.

If Weronika’s story resonates – if you’re someone who’s curious, willing to learn, and ready to build something meaningful – we want to hear from you.

At OLX, your background doesn’t have to be perfect. Your career path doesn’t have to be linear. You just have to be willing to try.
